Who this policy covers

Stackcurious LLC provides the Dupelganger iPhone app and these product pages. This policy distinguishes the app’s local processing from information you voluntarily send to support and information processed when you visit this website.

Data in the iPhone app

We do not collect personal data through the app. It has no account, advertising SDK, analytics SDK or tracking identifiers. Duplicate detection, visual comparisons, screenshot text recognition and supported automatic titles run on the device. We do not receive your images, video, documents, recognized text, scan results or library metadata.

The app stores scan results, review decisions, screenshot cards, preferences, cleanup totals and purchase entitlement information locally to provide its features. Local processing can include image quality and face analysis to suggest keepers; it does not identify you to us or build a remotely stored face profile.

Permissions and optional features

• Photos: read the items you allow for scanning and previews; save smaller copies; delete only items you approve through the Photos confirmation prompt. Limited access limits the scan to the photos you select.
• Files: read the folders you choose, compare document contents, and clear approved duplicates. File providers may download or sync their own content under your settings.
• Notifications: optional reminders and scan notifications are scheduled locally. You can turn them off.
• Search, widgets and shortcuts: enabled features make screenshot text or cleanup summaries available to iOS on your device. Screenshot search indexing can be disabled in Dupelganger Settings.
• Sharing: if you export screenshot text or share a cleanup summary, you choose the destination in the system share sheet. That destination’s privacy practices apply.

Apple services and purchases

Apple processes the optional one-time purchase and restores it through your Apple Account. The app uses StoreKit to check the purchase entitlement. We do not receive your card or banking details. Apple may provide developers with App Store sales and platform reports under its own terms.

iCloud Photos, device backups, iOS diagnostics and file-provider syncing are controlled by your system settings and those providers. Dupelganger does not upload your library to a developer-operated server. Read Apple’s privacy policy for Apple’s processing.

Retention and deletion

Local app records are kept while needed for the app’s features. Deleting the app removes its local app container; offloading the app preserves its data. Deleting the app does not remove your photo library, documents, exported files or copies in your device backups. Manage backups separately through Apple or your backup provider.

Cleared photos and videos generally remain in Photos’ Recently Deleted for up to 30 days, unless you permanently delete them sooner. Documents use the file provider’s trash where available; recovery and retention depend on that provider. If trash is unavailable, permanent removal requires an additional confirmation.

Saved screenshot text may remain in your local cards after the original screenshot is cleared. Turn off screenshot search in the app to remove its search entries. There is no Dupelganger account or server-side library to delete.

When you contact support

If you email us, we receive your email address and the message and attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond, troubleshoot and maintain support records. Our email service processes these messages to deliver and store them. Send only the information necessary for your request; you do not need to send your private library.

We retain support correspondence as needed to handle the request, related follow-up and legal obligations. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your correspondence at hello@stackcurious.com. We may need to verify the request and may retain records where legally required.

This website and analytics

This website is hosted on Vercel and uses Vercel Web Analytics. Unlike the iPhone app, the website processes technical visit information, such as pages visited, referrer, browser and device type, and approximate location derived from connection information. Hosting infrastructure also processes IP addresses and request details to deliver and secure the site.

Vercel Web Analytics uses no analytics cookies and is designed to report website usage without identifying individual visitors. Website analytics do not access your iPhone photo library. See Vercel’s analytics privacy documentation and Vercel’s privacy policy for processing and retention details.

Sharing, rights and children

We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Service providers process website requests and support correspondence as described above; we may also disclose information when legally required. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection, and to complain to a privacy authority. Contact us to exercise applicable rights.

Dupelganger is a general-audience utility, not a service directed at children. The app does not collect personal information from children or other users. If a child sends personal information to support, a parent or guardian can contact us to request deletion.
