Agreement to terms
By downloading, installing or using Expiro (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Description of service
Expiro tracks when your important documents expire and reminds you to renew them. The App lets you:
- Scan and photograph documents
- Detect expiration dates with on-device text recognition
- Receive local notifications before documents expire
- Store document information on your device
License
Stack Curious LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
Purchases
Expiro is free to download. The free version covers one person and three documents. Expiro Pro unlocks unlimited documents, profiles for everyone in your household, the household summary and custom reminder schedules. Pro is offered as:
- Pro Weekly: an auto-renewable subscription, $1.99 per week
- Pro Yearly: an auto-renewable subscription, $9.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers
- Lifetime: a one-time, non-consumable purchase, $24.99, shared through Family Sharing
Prices are in US dollars; in other countries the App Store shows the price in local currency, and it may differ. All purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms and conditions. Purchases can be restored on any device signed in to the same Apple ID, and are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or under Apple’s refund policy.
Auto-renewable subscriptions
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price of the plan you are subscribed to.
- You can manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings after purchase (on iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions).
- If you start a free trial, payment is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
License agreement
Your use of Expiro is also governed by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your device secure
- The accuracy of the information you enter into the App
- Backing up your device regularly
- Checking expiration dates against your official documents
Disclaimer
Expiro is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We work to make date detection accurate and reminders timely, but:
- Text recognition depends on image quality and the document’s format
- Notifications depend on your device settings and iOS behaviour
- Renewal rules, grace periods and fines shown in the App come from official sources and can change; check them with the issuing authority
- Expiro is not a substitute for checking your actual documents
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stack Curious LLC and its developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Missed expiration dates or late renewals
- Fines, fees or penalties from expired documents
- Loss of data stored in the App
- Any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App
Data and privacy
Your data is stored on your device by default. It leaves the device only if you turn on the optional, end-to-end iCloud Sync feature, or as usage analytics (a random per-install ID, not linked to your identity, never your document content), which you can turn off. The Privacy Policy has the details.
