Frequently asked questions
- How do I add a document?
- Tap the add button on the main screen, then scan the document or enter it by hand. Expiro reads passport MRZ lines, license barcodes and printed or Hijri dates on your phone. Check the date it found, adjust it if needed, and save.
- Why wasn’t the expiry date detected?
- Scanning works best with a clear, well-lit photo where the expiry date is visible. If a date is not found, retake the photo with better light or enter the date by hand; for an iqama you can pick it on the Hijri calendar.
- When will I get reminders?
- Each document gets a renew-by date, set from the renewal rule for that document (for an iqama, 60 days before expiry). By default Expiro reminds you 30, 14, 7 and 1 day before the renew-by date, and on the day itself. Change the defaults in Settings → Reminders.
- I’m not getting notifications
- Open the iPhone Settings app, tap Expiro, tap Notifications and make sure Allow Notifications is on. In Expiro, Settings → Notifications shows whether they are enabled.
- How do I restore my purchase?
- Open Expiro, go to Settings → Plan and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple ID you bought with. The paywall also has a Restore button.
- How do I cancel a subscription?
- Pro Weekly and Pro Yearly renew automatically until you cancel. On iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Expiro. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period, or the free trial, ends.
- Is my data backed up?
- Your iPhone backup includes Expiro’s data. You can also turn on iCloud Sync in Settings to keep your own devices in step, or export a backup file in Settings → Data & Export and import it on another device.
- How do I delete a document, or everything?
- Open a document and tap Delete; its reminders are cancelled too. To remove every document, go to Settings → Data & Export → Clear All Documents.
