1. Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Stack Curious LLC concerning the DepreScan app and website. By downloading, accessing, or using DepreScan, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the product.
Use of the iOS app is also subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple EULA”). These Terms supplement the Apple EULA. Where they conflict, the Apple EULA applies to the extent required.
2. Wellbeing and emergency limits
It is a self-reflection and screening-support tool. It does not diagnose, prevent, monitor, predict, or treat depression, suicide risk, or any other condition.
Do not rely on DepreScan for emergency assistance, clinical decisions, medication decisions, or professional advice. The distance, trend, mode, safety phrase match, and suggested steps are automated reflections based on your inputs and may be incomplete or wrong.
If you may hurt yourself or someone else, or are in immediate danger, call local emergency services now. Use the app’s free crisis resources or visit our Safety page for direct contacts. DepreScan cannot monitor you, contact emergency services for you, or guarantee that a third-party crisis service is available.
3. Eligibility and license
You must be legally able to agree to these Terms in your region. DepreScan is not directed to children under 13. If local law requires parental or guardian consent, you may use the app only with that consent.
Subject to these Terms and the Apple EULA, Stack Curious LLC grants you a personal, limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to use DepreScan on Apple devices you own or control for personal, noncommercial use.
4. DepreScan+ subscriptions
DepreScan offers free features and optional auto-renewable DepreScan+ subscriptions. Before purchase, the app displays the current product, billing period, price, included access, and any trial or introductory offer reported by Apple for your account.
- Annual: planned US price of $19.99 per year.
- Weekly: planned US price of $4.99 per week.
- Introductory offers: available only when Apple confirms eligibility. Terms shown in the purchase screen control.
Prices vary by storefront and may change. Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically for the displayed period until canceled. Apple processes billing, determines offer eligibility, and handles refunds under its policies.
You can manage or cancel through Apple subscription settings. Cancel before renewal if you do not want the next period. Deleting DepreScan or deleting local journey data does not cancel a subscription.
When Plus ends, already earned journey history remains visible and all free and safety features remain available. Future Plus-only access becomes restricted as described in the app.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, bypass, interfere with, or misuse DepreScan except where applicable law permits.
- Use the app to provide diagnosis, crisis monitoring, or professional medical services to another person.
- Copy or commercially exploit the app, Wick, artwork, copy, catalogs, or other product content.
- Use the product unlawfully or in a way that harms another person or system.
- Submit unlawful, abusive, or malicious content through support channels.
You are responsible for safeguarding your device and deciding what photos or reflections to store on it.
6. Ownership and feedback
DepreScan, Wick, software, illustrations, copy, and product design are owned by Stack Curious LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.
You retain rights in your photos and reflections. The app does not require a license to upload them because it does not operate an upload service. If you voluntarily send feedback, you grant us permission to use it to improve DepreScan without identifying you or creating an obligation to compensate you.
7. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DepreScan is provided “as is” and “as available.” Stack Curious LLC disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, noninfringement, uninterrupted operation, data preservation, and fitness for medical or emergency use.
Suggested steps, crisis links, HealthKit context, notifications, and subscription services may be unavailable, delayed, incomplete, or affected by your device, permissions, region, connectivity, Apple services, or third-party services. You should maintain any backup or professional support you consider necessary.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Stack Curious LLC and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, goodwill, profits, or opportunities arising from DepreScan. Any aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid for DepreScan during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so some of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.
9. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may improve, change, suspend, or discontinue product features, subject to applicable law and obligations for paid access. We may terminate your license if you materially violate these Terms. You may stop using DepreScan at any time and delete local data in Settings.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and additional notice when legally required. The laws and courts that apply to a dispute depend on applicable law, the Apple EULA, and your place of residence.
