Terms of Service

Prayer Request is an iOS application that helps users articulate prayer requests, receive Bible verses and short personal prayers generated by a large language model, save those results for later, and optionally share requests anonymously with an opt-in community feed where strangers can pray for them. It is a devotional and emotional-support companion, not a replacement for pastoral care, professional counseling, or emergency mental-health services.

Content generated by or displayed in the app — including verses, prayers, category labels, and community resources — is for devotional and informational purposes only. It does not constitute medical, mental-health, legal, or theological advice. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or a local crisis line immediately. Verses and prayers in Prayer Request are produced by third-party large language models (currently OpenAI GPT-5.4-nano and Anthropic Claude Haiku 4.5) based on the text you submit. These models may occasionally produce errors, misquote scripture, or return content that is inappropriate for your situation. Treat generated content as a starting point, not authoritative teaching. Always cross-check scripture against a trusted source when it matters.

Sharing a request to the community is opt-in per request and off by default. By sharing, you acknowledge that: (a) the content you share will be visible to other Prayer Request users; (b) we operate an automated moderation check intended to block personally-identifying information, spam, threats, and content that isn't a prayer request, but no automated system is perfect; (c) you can delete your shared post at any time from within the app. You agree not to share content that contains personal identifiers (yours or anyone else's), threats, hate speech, spam, or content that harms or identifies another person.

You can report any community post you believe violates these terms. Reports from three unique devices on the same post automatically hide it pending review. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms and, in cases of repeated or egregious abuse, to block devices from posting.

Prayer Request is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple. It unlocks the app permanently on your Apple ID. Refund requests are handled by Apple according to Apple's refund policy — we do not process refunds directly.

Data you create locally (prayer requests you don't share, saved items, received verses) stays on your device. Data you choose to share (community posts, engagement events such as "I prayed" taps and verse sends, and optional preference sync) is stored on our server keyed by an anonymous device hash. You agree not to: reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the app except to the extent permitted by law; use the app to harass, threaten, or identify another person; attempt to de-anonymize other users; abuse rate-limited endpoints to scrape or overload the service; or use the app to represent generated content as authoritative religious instruction.

The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that generated content will be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your situation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stack Curious, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the app, including any damages related to decisions made on the basis of generated content.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA.
