Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 21, 2026

OkPhoto does not collect personal data. Every photo you take with OkPhoto is processed on your device. Compliance checks, alignment guidance, cropping, and print-sheet generation all run locally on your iPhone using ARKit, Vision, and CoreImage. We do not upload your photo to our servers, store it remotely, or share it with anyone.

What we do not collect

  • We do not use analytics SDKs of any kind.
  • We do not track you across apps or websites.
  • We do not require an account, email address, or login.
  • We do not sell, share, or transmit any personal data to third parties.
  • We do not display advertising.
  • We do not use the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
  • We do not run any servers that record your photos.

Data stored on your device

  • Captured photos and exports.Photos you capture and compliant exports you generate are saved to your device's Application Support directory. They are excluded from iCloud backup unless you explicitly opt in.
  • Document selection. Your last-used document spec and onboarding completion state are stored in iOS UserDefaults on your device. Local-only.
  • Export history. A local index of past exports (file references, compliance snapshot, document type) lives in Application Support so the Exports tab can show your past photos. Local-only.
  • Purchase entitlement.Whether you have purchased Lifetime Pro is verified through Apple's StoreKit framework on your device. We do not see your payment details.

Camera

The capture screen uses your camera only while it is open. Frames are processed in real time by Apple's on-device Vision framework to extract face landmarks and run the nine compliance checks. We do not record video, store frames, or transmit any image data.

Network requests

OkPhoto's default operation makes no network requests at all. The app ships with the full document specifications database bundled inside the binary. The only optional network paths are listed below; each one requires you to explicitly opt in or trigger it.

  • Spec refresh (planned, v1.1). A signed JSON file with the latest document specifications may be fetched from specs.okphoto.app. The request contains no personal data. Disabled at v1.
  • Expert Review (planned, v1.1).If you opt in to the Human Expert Review feature for a single photo, that photo and the document type you selected are encrypted and uploaded to our review queue. A human reviewer evaluates it against the document's official requirements. The encrypted photo is deleted from our servers within 48 hours of review. We never associate the photo with your name, email, or any identity.
  • Anonymous usage stats (optional, off by default). If you enable the toggle in Settings, OkPhoto may send aggregate counters (how many photos were attempted, how many passed, how many exports were purchased). These contain no identifiers — we cannot trace them back to you. You can disable this at any time.

Apple Pay & in-app purchases

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We receive only an anonymous transaction confirmation; we never see your name, card details, or Apple ID. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their policy.

Photos library

When you tap “Save JPEG” or “Save Print Sheet PDF,” OkPhoto saves the file to your iPhone's Photos library or Files app using Apple's add-only permission. We do not have access to read your existing photos.

Children's privacy

OkPhoto is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. The Baby Passport flow is intended for parents and guardians capturing their child's passport photo.

Changes

If this policy materially changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Since we collect nothing, material changes are unlikely.
