Effective August 19, 2026 · Stack Curious LLC

The short version: your location and your saved gates never leave your phone. The only things that ever reach our servers are the things you deliberately post.

Location

Bab Amanah uses your location for two things only: telling whether you are in Makkah or Madinah, and pointing you back to your saved gate. All of this happens on your device. Your location is never uploaded, logged, or shared.

Saved gates and spots

Stored on your device. Never uploaded.

The camera

The gate scanner reads gate numbers on-device; those frames are never stored or sent. When you photograph a found item to post it, the photo is checked on your device first — photos showing people are refused — resized, and uploaded only when you tap Post.

Posting and your identity

Browsing the found-items feed needs no account. Posting requires Sign in with Apple, so items can be traced to a real Apple ID. We store a random account identifier — your name and email are not requested and never shown to anyone.

Lost-item alerts (Pro)

If you create an alert, its description and your device's push token are stored so we can notify you of matches. Deactivating the alert stops matching.

What we never do

No advertising, no analytics SDKs, no tracking, no sale of data, and no sharing with third parties beyond the infrastructure that hosts the feed (Supabase) and Apple's push service.

Moderation

Feed photos are screened on-device before upload (objects only, never people). Every item can be reported in-app; reported items are reviewed and removed within 24 hours, and three independent reports hide an item automatically.

Deleting your account and data

In the app: About → Delete account. This permanently erases your account identifier, your posts and photos, your alerts, and your push token. You can also email us (below) and we will delete everything tied to your account identifier.

Children

Bab Amanah is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
