Terms of Use

AutoCal is an iOS calorie and nutrition tracker. Its core features: menu/plate/ label scanning with AI-assisted nutrition estimates, a verified nutrition database for 30 major restaurant chains, meal logging, macro/streak tracking, Apple Health sync, and optional location-based restaurant memory. There is no account system — your data is stored on your device and, if enabled, in your own private iCloud.

AutoCal's calorie and macro estimates — whether from our verified restaurant database or from AI-assisted photo scanning — are for general informational purposes only. AI-generated estimates are approximations and can be wrong. AutoCal is not a medical device and does not provide medical, dietary, or nutrition advice. Always use your own judgment, and consult a doctor or registered dietitian for medical or dietary guidance, especially if you have a health condition, allergy, or are pregnant or nursing. Do not rely on AutoCal for life-threatening allergen decisions — always verify ingredients directly with the restaurant or on the packaging.

Photos you scan (menus, plates, labels) are processed to generate your results as described in our Privacy Policy and are not retained by us afterward. You're responsible for what you photograph and how you use the results.

• New users get a 7-day free trial of Pro features without providing payment information ("reverse trial"). If you don't purchase before the trial ends, the app reverts to the free tier.
• AutoCal Pro is offered as an auto-renewing yearly subscription ($39.99/year, with a separate 3-day free-trial introductory offer on first subscribe), an auto-renewing monthly subscription ($9.99/month), or a one-time lifetime purchase ($79.99) that unlocks Pro permanently.
• All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account. Auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's own refund policies — we cannot issue refunds directly.
• Pricing may change; we'll give notice as required for subscription price changes.

The free tier (menu/plate/barcode/label scanning up to the free weekly limit, unlimited meal logging and tracking, Apple Health sync, streaks) remains free and does not require an account.

Don't use AutoCal to violate the law, to attempt to disrupt or abuse the app or the services it depends on (including our relay/proxy service or the AI providers it calls), or to reverse-engineer the app beyond what's permitted by applicable law.

AutoCal's scanning features send images through our own relay to Anthropic and/or OpenAI for processing; usage analytics go through TelemetryDeck; purchases go through Apple's StoreKit; optional sync goes through Apple's iCloud/CloudKit. Your use of those underlying services is also subject to their own terms.

AutoCal is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy of nutrition estimates, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted/error-free operation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stackcurious LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of AutoCal, including reliance on nutrition estimates. Our total liability for any claim relating to AutoCal is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, if any.

We may update the app and these terms over time. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA.
